Activities and Wellness Programs

One of the most important aspects of your stay is being able to engage in activities that bring meaning and delight to your daily life. We know that recovering after an illness, facing the challenges of multiple health conditions or leaving your home can be a difficult adjustment, and we are here to help. Our activities director and staff will discuss your interests, hobbies, and preferences with you and ensure that you are offered options to engage in your favorite leisure pursuits. Whether you prefer the comfort of your customary routine or decide to join in new activities, we are here to support you!

We encourage our residents to actively engage in group activities that promote mental fitness, spirituality, exercise, and most importantly, fun! Residents may choose to participate in a wide variety of programs offered in both English and Japanese. We enjoy hosting special seasonal events for our residents and families as well as celebrating traditional Japanese holidays such as Tanabata and Keiro No Hi.

Our library offers a peaceful retreat for solitary leisure pursuits while the cozy dayrooms and central activity and dining rooms promote socialization. Our outdoor walking areas traverse through the Japanese gardens and koi ponds with plenty of seating for quiet reflection or friendly conversation. The paved walking path circling the gateball course is a popular destination for many active seniors who enjoy independent or supervised outdoor exercise.

We want Sakura Intermediate Care Facility to feel like home! If you have any special requests for the types of activities you’d like to participate in while you’re here, please let us know!
